The hype surrounding the professional chef, who helped restaurants out of trouble in the RTL show of the same name, dates back a few years, but for the fans Rach is and will always remain the original tester.

Since 2019, Rach has again had his own cooking show on the health channel “health tv.” In the same year it was announced that the Hamburg resident would be a new member of the jury for the VOX cooking show “Grill den Henssler”.

In addition to his television career, Rach managed several restaurants in Hamburg. In 2019, the last restaurant that Rach helped set up and rented out – the “Rach & Ritchy” grill house – in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld was closed.

One advantage that Rach has retired as a restaurant manager: more time for private life. He and his wife Andrea, whom he is said to have married in 2000, have been a couple for many years. According to media reports, they have two children together.

The appearance at the Blankenese restart reception in the Hotel Grand Elyssee last Friday, May 6, 2022, was not the first with his wife, because Rach has often taken Andrea to events and red carpets in Hamburg, but that was a long time ago.

While the 64-year-old previously held back with details about his private life, he now told “Bunte” what qualities his wife must have by his side: “Relatively crazy, and she has to be very patient. On average, become a chef: inside also only 56. That comes from the stress, because where there is stress, there is alcohol and also hard stuff.

Unfortunately, many colleagues need this. There are always situations where you have to go higher, faster, further. I always say: ‘Greed eats brains.’ My family is my calming influence and always brings me down. In these moments, my wife always says: ‘Don’t imagine anything, stay the way you are.’ That’s really good for me,” was Rach’s down-to-earth response.
