PARIS (Reuters) – Christiane Taubira will vote for the candidate of La France insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, to “block the road to the far right”, she announced in a press release on Friday.
“The accession of the extreme right to power is a risk that we cannot resolve. From the first round, I choose to block its way. The left-wing candidate in a position to do so today is Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Sunday, he will have my vote, “said the former Keeper of the Seals.
After declaring in December “considering” to run for the votes of the French, the former deputy of Guyana had formalized her candidacy on January 15 and had won the “popular primary” 15 days later, before giving up for lack of having received a sufficient number of referrals.
