Actress returns to Addams Family

Christina Ricci is set to rejoin the Addams Family in the Netflix series Wednesday. It is not known what role she will play.
Back to her roots: US actress Christina Ricci (42) could become a member of the legendary “Addams Family” universe again. She had her breakthrough as a child star with the role of Wednesday Addams in the films “Addams Family” (1991) and “The Addams Family: A Crazy Tradition” (1993). According to the US industry portal “Deadline” Ricci should now be part of the cast of Tim Burton’s (63) Netflix series “Wednesday”. Exact details of her role are therefore not known, but she is said to be an “important part” of the TV show.
Jenna Ortega (19), known from “Scream 5”, will play the eponymous Wednesday Addams in the series. Ricci could replace Thora Birch (40) in the series. Birch left the project for personal reasons. She was set to play Wednesday’s dorm mom at the remote and spooky Nevermore Academy. According to Deadline, Ricci’s character is said to be similar. The 42-year-old has allegedly been in front of the camera for the series for weeks. Filming should end in March.
Creepy detective stories?
The “Wednesday” series is intended to be a coming-of-age story and show Wednesday’s journey through Nevermore Academy. During her time at the school, she is said to be busy solving supernatural mysteries. Also present are Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones (53) as Morticia Addams and Luis Guzmán (65) as Gomez Addams. The first season of “Wednesday” is said to consist of eight episodes and is said to start on Netflix in 2022. The screenplay comes from the “Smallville” creators Alfred Gough (54) and Miles Millar (55).
Many fans of the “Addams Family” should be happy that Christina Ricci can be seen in the series by cult director Tim Burton. When the series was announced, there was already a petition for the actress to be part of the cast.
