A journalist of Belarusian origin, Claire has worked at Purepeople since 2019. Presenter of the show Faced with information on CNews since 2019, Christine Kelly has answered questions from the magazine’s journalists Interview, particularly regarding his nickname chosen for his media career. Born on July 13, 1969 in Lamentin under the name Christine Tigiffon, she chose the name ‘Kelly’ for professional reasons.
If she made this modification, it is because she was asked: “Why did you change? Because in 1992, I was told that on television, you had to change your name. It was on a private channel and they lied to me.” she explained. “I was accompanied by my little cousin who I adore and whose name is Kellyso I said ‘Well put Kelly in then!'” she added.
A TV career far from being envisaged at the start
A journalist recognized on the small screen for her positions, Léa’s mother was not at all destined for this career when she was a child. Far from television, she wanted to become a teacher to the younger generations. She reveals: “I wanted to become a math/physics teacher. And then little by little, really by chance, I did television. I was on vacation in Guadeloupe and I was asked to change my name to work on a small TV channel! I thought it was just for vacation, for fun. And eventually, I started getting mail with that name, “Christine Kelly,” and it stuck severe”.
On Instagram, the 54-year-old host, ex-member of the CSA (now Arcom), warmly thanked the journalists ofInterview for this interview as part of a very special issue on the sidelines of Women’s Rights Day: “Thank you to @interviewfr for putting me on the front page. Christine Kelly, soon in politics?
Television is not the only field in which Christine Kelly could flourish now. The journalist defended a proposed law in favor of single-parent families. A project that she shared via her personal Instagram account and of which she seems very proud.
“I thank @p_brun, PS deputy for his current bill with a view to a status for single-parent families: This is my proposal of March 25, 2022” she announced in the caption of several photos. A journalist who is not limited to her career on the small screen but who sees things in a big way.
