Christine Strobl and Oliver Köhr: ARD appoints new management team

ARD has presented its new management team. Christine Strobl is the new program director, Oliver Köhr becomes editor-in-chief.

New distribution of posts at ARD: On this Thursday, the working group announced which new appointments had been decided at the meeting of the directors of ARD on September 22nd and 23rd, 2020 in Berlin. "The new management team is to lead ARD further into the digital future. We were able to attract outstanding personalities for this extremely demanding task," said ARD chairman Tom Buhrow (61).

Christine Strobl (49) will be the new ARD program director on May 1, 2021, succeeding Volker Herres (63). Strobl has been the managing director of Degeto Film GmbH since 2012 and brought the ARD series "Babylon Berlin" into position. ARD entertainment coordinator Thomas Schreiber (61) is to be her successor, the election itself still has to take place at the shareholders' meeting.

The previous deputy head of the ARD capital studio, Oliver Köhr (44), will also be the new ARD editor-in-chief from May 1, 2021. He takes over the post from Rainald Becker (60), who will take over the coordination of the federal election. Matthias Deiß (42), however, will take over the post from Köhr. Philipp Schild has been appointed as the new funk managing director and will succeed Florian Hager on December 1, 2020.
