The TV program has a lot to offer on Christmas Eve and the Christmas holidays. The broadcasters include Christmas classics, shows and new films in their programs. These are the highlights.

December 24th, 8:15 pm, ZDF, "Christmas Eve with Carmen Nebel"

Carmen Nebel (64) invites TV viewers to spend Christmas Eve with her and her guests. Musicians like Angelo Kelly (38) with family, Rolando Villazón (48) or Ross Antony (46) with husband Paul Reeves (46) will join the presenter. Chef Alfons Schuhbeck (71) is responsible for the Christmas delicacies. Carmen Nebel also invited her partner Norbert Endlich (62) and daughter Ella (36) to present Christmas music.

December 24th, 8:15 pm, WDR, "Three hazelnuts for Cinderella"

The Christmas classic "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella" runs a total of 19 (!) Times in this year's Christmas program. The WDR shows the fairy tale on Christmas Eve at prime time at 8:15 p.m. The first broadcasts that day at 12:15 p.m. That's what it's about: The king wants his son to finally marry and invites many young women from near and far to a party in his castle. But the prince doesn't want to get married and he doesn't like women at all. But then a beautiful woman in a precious dress enters the ballroom. Nobody realizes it's Cinderella.

December 24th, 8:15 pm, Sat.1, "Kevin – Alone at home

For the seventh time in a row, Sat.1 will be showing the same film on Christmas Eve at prime time: "Kevin – Alone at Home" (8:15 pm) with Macaulay Culkin (40). The McCallister family's preparations for Christmas vacation end in utter chaos. Son Kevin is banished to the attic by his mother for the rest of the day, where he falls asleep a short time later. When he wakes up again, his family left for Paris without him. His joy about the storm-free booth is short-lived: the burglar couple Harry and Marv are lying in wait. The sequel "Kevin alone in New York" follows on December 25th (8:15 pm).

December 25th, 8:15 pm, ZDF, "The Helene Fischer Show – My most beautiful moments"

On Christmas Day (8:15 pm), ZDF viewers can expect a special edition of the "Helene Fischer Show": With "The Helene Fischer Show – My Most Beautiful Moments", the pop singer presents her personal highlights from past years. This includes appearances with many national and international guest stars and spectacular acrobatics. Helene Fischer (36) leads through the show herself. The original plan was to record the tenth edition of the "Helene Fischer Show" in front of a live audience in the Düsseldorf exhibition center, but it was canceled due to the ongoing corona restrictions.

December 25, 2:55 p.m., ARD, "Sissi"

December 25th is all about the former Austrian Empress: "Sissi – The Young Empress" tells of Emperor Franz Joseph, who, to the great surprise of the court, announces his engagement to the Bavarian Princess Sissi. Franz Joseph prevails against his mother for the first time and finally leads Sissi in front of the altar. For Romy Schneider (1938-1982), who was only 16 years old, and Karlheinz Böhm (1928-2014), who was also still young, the global success of "Sissi" paved the way for an international acting career. Part two can be seen immediately afterwards at 4:40 p.m. "Sissi – Fateful Years of an Empress", part three, will be shown on December 26th at 4:45 pm.

December 25th, 8:15 pm, ARD, "Louis van Beethoven"

2020 will be the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birthday. ARD takes this as an opportunity and looks at the myth of the outstanding composer in music history in an elaborately staged, fictional feature film. "Louis van Beethoven" focuses on three phases of his life: the young pianist Colin Pütz plays the child prodigy of Bonn's childhood days, Anselm Bresgott (21) plays the rebellious, youthful Beethoven and Tobias Moretti (61) plays the lonely and deaf genius at the end of his life.

December 26th, 8:15 pm, RTL, "Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom"

Three years ago, the Jurassic World dinosaur park had to be evacuated. A volcanic eruption threatens to destroy the park and the dinosaurs. To save the dinosaurs, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) calls on ex-game warden Owen Grady (Chris Pratt). Owen accompanies Claire, also because he wants to see Velociraptor "Blue" again. The two quickly realize that the donors of the rescue operation have a completely different agenda. The day before (December 25th, 8:15 pm) RTL shows its predecessor "Jurassic World" from 2015.

December 26th, 8:15 pm, ZDF, "Das Traumschiff"

"The Dream Ship" will set sail again on December 26th and set course for Cape Town. A big change awaits Captain Parger (Florian Silbereisen) and his team: They have to say goodbye to long-term employees who have decided to start a new life on land. Including ship doctor Doctor Sander (Nick Wilder), who has decided in favor of love and wants to leave the dream ship. But the closer the farewell draws, the stronger his doubts become. Can he actually imagine life on land? "The Dream Ship" is followed by "Cruise into Happiness: Honeymoon to the Baltic Sea" at 9:50 pm and a "Dream Ship" special at 11:20 pm, which looks behind the scenes of the shooting.

December 26th, 8:15 pm, ARD, "Tatort – Unter Wölfen"

On Boxing Day the "Tatort: ​​Unter Wölfen" is on the program: A murder in the milieu of the clubs and bouncers confronts the Ludwigshafen police officers Lena Odenthal (Ulrike Folkerts) and Johanna Stern (Lisa Bitter) with dubious links between private security services and state clients. Just one day later (December 27th), after a break of many weeks, a "Polizeiruf 110" can be seen again on the Sunday crime scene. In "The Condemned", Magdeburg inspector Doreen Brasch (Claudia Michelsen) has to explain the disappearance of a young nurse after a blind date with an Internet acquaintance.
