Not in the mood for old Christmas chimneys? At Disney +, families will find more choice this Christmas. In our overview we have captured the best films from the festival on Disney +. You can see the best tricks for Disney + in the video.
The Advent season is here. And it’s not long until Christmas either. If someone is still not really in the Christmas mood or is full of cannons, a few Christmas films could help. And where better to look than at Disney, which has always stood for family-friendly entertainment. They upgraded quite a bit in November this year. Streaming competitor Netflix also has a lot of Christmas films in its program, but the in-house streaming service Disney + offers just as varied and extensive range.
More than “Frozen”: Stream Christmas movies at Disney
The Disney film studio has always worked on Christmas films. And while the two parts of “The Ice Queen” were not only great successes around the world, but with their snow and ice theme, they also came to the cinema on time and just in time for Christmas, they are actually not Christmas films at all. But do not despair! Disney + has more than enough real Christmas films in its program: classics, but also new productions.
For example, the Christmas film “Noelle” with Anna Kendrick will start on November 27th. She is the daughter of Kris Kringle, but when her brother is supposed to be the successor of Santa Claus, he cannot cope with it and she has to help him. “Kevin – Alone at home” and “Kevin – Alone in New York”, both of which are already available for viewing at Disney +, are of course also absolute classics. Since there are also a number of rather unusual and niche films with a Christmas theme, you will find the classic ones here:
- Disney’s A Christmas Story
- Noelle (from November 27th)
- The miracle of Manhattan
- Santa Clause 1-3
- Beauty and the Beast: Christmas Magic
- Annie
- Muppets – a Christmas story
- When dreams come true
- The ultimate Christmas present
- Kevin home alone
- Kevin – Alone in New York
Christmas can be crazy too at Disney +
The Disney Channel has been a fixture in the USA for years and so far this has always been the option for Disney to release smaller films with not so big cinema ambitions. Therefore, these television films are often offshoots of larger films such as “Air Bud”, in which a dog plays the leading role. In “Santa Buddies – In Search of Santa Paw” small dogs go in search of Santa’s dog.
Films like “A Desert Gift” are even more bizarre. A student in California, where the weather is often not very Christmassy, is encouraged by his parents to come to New York for Christmas. The road trip there is proving to be a difficult undertaking. And in “When Santa Claus Comes in Person” the real Santa Claus is even accidentally knocked out and the boy Danny and his uncle have to stand in for him. Here is the list of the slightly different Christmas films:
- Santa Buddies – Looking for Santa’s paw
- Santa Paw’s big Christmas adventure
- Santa Paw 2 – The Christmas Puppy
- A desert mess
- The 12 Christmas dates
- Nightmare before Christmas
- His last chance
- My sister Charlie out and about
- When Santa Claus comes in person
