Will the end of year celebrations be spoiled by viruses of all kinds? For the fourth consecutive year, they will take place under the sign of caution in view of the significant circulation of certain viruses such as covid-19. Europe 1 gives you advice on how to spend the holidays in the best possible way.

Some are still looking for their party outfits, but these outfits could be ruined by the return of the mask or by the covid epidemic and viruses of all kinds which are circulating a lot during this period of high traffic in stores. The end-of-year celebrations must therefore take place under the sign of caution and the application of barrier gestures.

The idea is no longer to completely isolate yourself

For Professor Bruno Lima, member of the Health Risk Monitoring and Anticipation Committee, from the moment someone is symptomatic (runny nose, sneezing, headache or throat pain), the idea is not no longer isolate oneself from other members of the family: “The idea is not necessarily to say: ‘well, stay at home, don’t move and don’t go see your family’. It’s there that barrier gestures apply”.

According to him, wearing a mask can allow you to spend the holidays as normally as possible: “In these conditions, what you need to do: be present, wear a mask when you are in a community and when we don’t eat, we remember to put it back.” The mask is not the only way to protect yourself during family gatherings, ventilation of the rooms is important: “Remember to ventilate the rooms you pass through. Simply open the door or window for a minute, that’s more than enough and it won’t cool the room excessively.

By following this advice, “it can, despite everything, allow you to have holidays that really resemble Christmas or end-of-year celebrations”.
