Every year, at the end of the year, companies really step on the gas and design emotional and creative advertising spots to celebrate the festival of love. We have collected three videos that will be in focus this year.

EDEKA: "Let's be happy and colorful"

Since the iconic "Supergeil" videos at the latest, we've been waiting every year for the retail chain's new Christmas spot. In 2020, the advertising will play at the meat counter, where a couple can be advised about this year's Christmas dinner. You will remember that the menu at the last Christmas festivities was always based on the origin of the "sons-in-law". With the spot, EDEKA wants to show that its range is just as colorful as society – but it got a shit storm for it. The accusation of some customers: The spot does the opposite. He uses too many clichés and is discriminatory. Nevertheless, the company is sticking to the campaign and has considered a fundraising campaign: For every glass of the specially created “Appetite for Diversity” soup, 50 cents go to the Deutschlandstiftung Integration.

OTTO: "Christmas has a home. Yours. #Heimnachten"

This year, OTTO is publishing three short spots under the hashtag #Heimnachten with the motto "Christmas has a home. Yours". In the video below you can see a father and daughter who both have the same, strong passion for Christmas. While the father is decorating the tree with fancy decorations and hanging it with fairy lights, the daughter has thrown herself in the bowl. We think: As far as the Christmas mood is concerned, it's never "a little too much" and we enjoy the anticipation that this spot triggers in us!

Disney: "Family is the best gift"

Who should be able to produce an emotional Christmas spot if not Disney? For the festival of love, the motto from Disney is "Family is the most beautiful gift" and thus draws our attention to what is really important – but unfortunately often falls short in everyday life. The spot tells the story of a grandmother who makes poinsettias with her granddaughter every year. The older the girl gets, the less time they spend together until the now young wife gives her grandma a nice present. Particularly great: With this spot, the company supports the "Make A Wish" initiative, which makes a wish come true for seriously ill children!
