Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender invite you to “Christmas with the Federal President” on ZDF on December 24th.
On December 24, 2022, “Christmas with the Federal President” will be shown again on ZDF from 6:00 p.m. The concert evening will take place in the St. Nikolaikirche in Flensburg, as the broadcaster reports. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier (66) and his wife, Elke Büdenbender (60), invite you to the festive evening. Steinmeier will again read excerpts from the Christmas story. Johannes B. Kerner (58) will moderate the event.
Santiano and other guests
The program includes performances by the band Santiano from Schleswig-Holstein and the choirboys Uetersen. Meanwhile, the tenor Pene Pati and the young French trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary (23) appear as soloists. According to the announcement, they will be supported by the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra conducted by Ruth Reinhardt.
“Christmas in the Ore Mountains with Jonas Kaufmann” afterwards
At 7:15 p.m., the program “Christmas in the Ore Mountains with Jonas Kaufmann” will follow on ZDF. The 53-year-old star tenor performs in the St. Anne’s Church in Annaberg-Buchholz, which offers a festive setting. Opera singer Diana Damrau (51) and her colleague René Pape (58) are expected as guests. Meanwhile, the Bergmusikkorps Frisch Glück is playing at the Christmas market in Annaberg-Buchholz.
British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason (23) will perform a new interpretation of a Basque Christmas carol, while Norwegian singer Rebekka Bakken (52) will perform her own song – and a Swedish Christmas carol together with Kaufmann. TikTok star Sophia (27) sings a version of “Hallelujah”, British pianist and composer Alexis Ffrench performs at the piano.
