Christoph Waltz will star in the action comedy “Old Guy.” He embodies a contract killer with a special mission.
Christoph Waltz (66) will play the leading role in an action comedy. As “Deadline” reports, plays Waltz in the film “Old Guy” by “The Expendables 2” director Simon West (61). Greg Johnson (“The Last Son”) is a contributing writer on the project. “I’ve wanted to work with Christoph Waltz for many years,” West said in a statement. “He is one of the most versatile actors of our time. I can’t wait to see him create another unique and iconic character.”
“Old Guy”: That’s what it’s about
Waltz will play aging hitman Terry Eubanks, who still believes he’s the best at his job. He gets an order from “The Company” to train the newcomer Wihlborg. The unlikely pair is tasked with eliminating senior members of a rival crime syndicate while uncovering their employer’s true motive. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2023 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Waltz won Best Supporting Actor Oscars in 2010 and 2013 for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained. Most recently he was in front of the camera for “The French Dispatch”, the “James Bond” strip “No Time to Die” and “Alita: Battle Angel”. He is also the star of the series “The Consultant”, which can be seen on Amazon Prime Video from February 24, 2023.
