Christophe Dalmasso case: was the murderer, Edno Borba Da Silva, finally caught?

Almost twenty years after killing and disappearing the body of Christophe Dalmasso, a businessman, in downtown Nice, Edno Borba Da Silva is still on the run. Back to this breathless news item that made the front page of the media.

This is a story that had agitated the French media for many months. We are on September 2, 2003, in the heart of the city of Nice. This more than ordinary day was marked by a sordid news item. A 32-year-old businessman named Christophe Dalmasso was walking down the street, making a few business phone calls, and then… never gave the slightest sign of life again. Logically, his relatives are worried and end up informing the police of this worrying disappearance.

Without any news, his ex-wife dares a hypothesis that she considers plausible: Christophe Dalmasso would have decided to extricate himself for a few days from his hectic pace of life to afford a spiritual retreat. Except that on the night of September 8 to 9, 2003, his vehicle was discovered burnt out in a badly frequented district of the city of Nice. The police then took the case very seriously and called for witnesses. which gives nothing.

Christophe Dalmasso’s murderer is still at large

Given that this man earns extremely well his living (he would be in possession of 15 million euros), the police decide to dig into his contacts. But still nothing. The investigation was completely relaunched almost a year later, when in the middle of August 2004, human remains were discovered in several places on the Côte d’Azur. Body parts that belong to Christophe Dalmasso. DNA analyzes on these body parts confuse a man: Edno Borba Da Silva, the boyfriend of Lucie Dalmasso, the businessman’s adopted daughter.

Arrested in the process, the latter, of Brazilian origin, is then indicted for intentional homicide. He then accuses Christophe’s daughter of having ordered the murder. Placed under judicial supervision after four years in prison, Edno Borba Da Silva managed to flee to Brazil, where he was never found. In the meantime, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. But he’s still racing somewhere in South America.
