Christophe Dominici's daughter pays him a poignant tribute

At a religious ceremony on Wednesday [December 2nd] in honor of Christophe Dominici, the player’s eldest daughter, Chiara, spoke a few poignant words for her dad.

His sudden death sent shock waves through the sports world. On November 24, we were saddened to learn of the death of former rugby player Christophe Dominici, whose circumstances of death remain unclear to this day. On the morning of Wednesday, December 2, a religious ceremony was organized to pay homage to him in the Sainte-Cécile church in Boulogne-Billancourt, where many rugby players and friends were present.

A much loved man, Christophe Dominici leaves behind his wife, Loretta, and two young girls, Chiara, 14, and Mya, 11. Her eldest daughter paid her a touching tribute during the ceremony. His words bear witness to the very important place his father held in his life. "My daddy of love, you were taken from me too quickly. I still needed you and since then I listen to your music on repeat. I miss your kisses, your hugs and your smile. I love you. ", she told the assembly, as reported at the Midi Olympique.

The suicide thesis rejected by the family

While Christophe Dominici was killed not far from the Parc de Saint-Cloud, on the afternoon of November 24, an investigation was opened by the Nanterre prosecutor's office to determine the exact causes of his death. Soon the worst speculations began to circulate, including one that the former French international committed suicide. A thesis that the family rejects outright, through a statement released last Friday. "Hastily, certain assertions according to which Christophe would have knowingly put an end to his days were relayed in the media; assertions which the family intends to protect themselves. This thesis – particularly easy – is not proven, and cannot, in the state, be accredited. The family therefore asks those who may comment on the circumstances of his death to respect his memory and our hope ", is it in particular indicated.

While waiting to learn more about what took the life of the one who marked the XV of France, he was buried alongside his late big sister Pascale, who died in 1986 at only 14 years old in an accident in car.
