Hollywood star Christopher Plummer has died at the age of 91. The actor was awarded an Oscar in 2012.

Hollywood star Christopher Plummer died on February 5, 2021 at the age of 91 with his family. This confirmed this, among other things, the US industry portal "Deadline". The actor fell asleep peacefully in his Connecticut home. Plummer became famous for his roles in "The Sound of Music", "Beginners", "Waterloo" and "The Man Who Wanted to Be King".

Plummer was born in Canada in 1929 and began his career there on the theater stage. After appearing on Broadway, he made his screen debut in 1958. He became world famous with "My Songs – My Dreams" ("The Sound of Music", 1965). In 2012 he set a record: for the role of the homosexual Hal in the film "Beginners" he received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and, at 82, was the oldest award winner in this category. In 2019, Plummer could also be seen in the successful detective film "Knives Out – Mord ist Familiensache", in which he played the family patriarch Harlan Thrombey, who died under mysterious circumstances.
