Chrome 111 is here, get updated!

She arrived ! Who ? The newest version of Google Chrome!

The Mountain View company has just deployed version 111 of its web browser.

Like millions of Internet users around the world, you probably trust Google Chrome to browse the web. Launched for the first time almost 15 years ago, it is (by far) the number 1 web browser on the market, ahead of Apple Safari and Microsoft Edge.

Today, the American giant is deploying the brand new version of its browser, which is up to version 111. No revolution on the horizon, but some always pleasant additions are on the program, particularly with regard to download management.

What’s up, Doctor Google?

Available now for download, the new version of Google Chrome will notably provide a “new” interface for downloads. This is manifested by a button (“download bubble”) accessible at the top right of the window and allows you to view the number of downloads in progress. A click will display a small pane in order to detail the current and past downloads. Microsoft Edge regulars will appreciate.

On the other hand, Google Chrome 11 will also be responsible for strengthening security, with various optimizations of course, but also a system that will detect old authorizations given to certain websites. If the system detects a website that has not been visited for 60 days and that has certain permissions (webcam, microphone, notifications, etc.), Google will automatically revoke them.

Finally, with Chrome 111, the giant announces that it is currently testing a new API called View Transition, which will make it possible to make transitions in the pages of web applications more fluid. In the same vein, Google is testing a new Picture-in-Picture mode which should be deployed through a future update.
