The Chrome flags are secret and hidden settings, with special customization options for your browser. We’ll show you how to unlock and use them.
The rather cryptically named Chrome flags hide experimental settings in Google Chrome. However, you won’t find them in the normal browser settings, but on a separate settings page. You first have to open it with a special URL.
In this way, Chrome flags provide more experienced users with additional options without overloading the settings with functions that could negatively influence the behavior of the browser. In addition to some user interface features, the Chrome flags also contain options for the rendering engine and switches for performance optimization. The latter in particular can also make the browser slower and more unstable, depending on the existing hardware such as CPU, GPU and main memory.
Security and privacy can also be compromised by enabling Chrome flags because the underlying features have not been released for general use.
