Given its popularity, Google Chrome
is one of browsers
most targeted by hackers. Security incidents are legion and it is not uncommon for the American giant to urgently correct certain flaws.

Google has just started rolling out a new Chrome update, patching its first zero-day vulnerability of 2022.

A zero day vulnerability fixed

Google Chrome has just deployed an update to install urgently. This Monday, February 14, the Mountain View company announced the arrival within a few days or weeks of an important patch numbered “98.0.4758.102”. In the line of sight, 11 security vulnerabilities, including a critical vulnerability actively exploited by malicious people.

According to Google, the problem lies in the Animation component of the browser and concerns a use-after-free problem. More concretely, the first zero day vulnerability flaw corrected this year makes it possible to attack the browser in the event of the use of memory not allocated to the application. When the vulnerability is exploited, hackers can execute several lines of code affecting the system or corrupt various data.

The degree of criticality of the ten others is mostly high and affects several elements of the program. We cannot recommend highly enough that you update Google Chrome as soon as possible. To do this, go to the top right of the screen, click on the ellipsis, then go to “About” from the “Help” line. If your browser is not up to date, theupdate will engage automatically.

Google Chrome

  • Very good performance
  • Simple and pleasant to use
  • A secure browser

Google Chrome no longer has to prove its qualities as a stable, fluid, fast, secure, ergonomic and multifunctional browser. Its interface and its mode of use are suitable for all audiences, inexperienced as informed. Criteria that still allow it today to dominate the market on a global scale, and to pursue development that inspires new web standards. But Chrome is not immune to a much less formidable aspect: the collection and commercialization of personal data by the browser which makes it a serious threat to the privacy of Internet users, all the more so when used in conjunction with other Google services. If respect for confidentiality must, for you, take precedence over the rest, we advise you to turn to Brave or Firefox, more reliable alternatives and satisfactory performance.
