Chubb: Berkshire Hathaway enters the capital

(AOF) – In the first quarter, Berkshire Hathaway’s investment company, Warren Buffett, purchased a little more than 25.92 million shares of insurer Chubb for an amount of $6.2 billion. He thus holds 6.4% of the capital of Chubb, according to an estimate from Dow Jones Market Data. Insurance is a sector that Warren Buffett knows well: Berkshire Hathaway notably owns the reinsurer General Re and the automobile insurer Geico. At the end of the first quarter, Berkshire Hathaway had a record cash flow of $189 billion.

Over this period, Berkshire Hathaway sold 13% of its stake in Apple.

These figures were revealed on the occasion of the publication of the 13F-HR report with the SEC. All institutional investors with assets under management greater than $100 million are required to file this document each quarter, which contains the number of shares held in a company and their value at the end of the quarter.
