From memorable to forgettable to mediocre, the cinematic saga Asterix makes us see all the colors in just 4 episodes. It will continue next year with a fifth film directed by Guillaume Canetfeaturing a new band of actors to camp the Gauls, the Romans and the Chinese in Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom.
Guillaume Canet (Asterix), Gilles Lellouche (Obelix), Vincent Cassel (Caesar), Jonathan Cohen (Corn), Marion Cotillard (Cleopatra), Julie Chen (Princess Fu Yi), Leanna Chea (Tat Han), Jose Garcia (Biopix), Ramzy Bedia (Corncob) and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Anti-virus) all of them already appear in the first trailer for the feature film. Even if hints of humor (or at least lines that try to be funny) are heard, this teaser trailer further marks with its ambitious action scenes and photographywhich could give more relief to the franchise, if they are better controlled than in Asterix at the Olympics.

We are in 50 BC. J.-C. The Empress of China is imprisoned following a coup fomented by Deng Tsin Quin, a traitor prince.
Helped by Graindemaïs, the Phoenician merchant, and by his faithful warrior Tat Han, Princess Fu-Yi, the Empress’s only daughter, fled to Gaul to ask for help from the two valiant warriors Asterix and Obelix, endowed with superhuman strength thanks to their magic potion.
Our two inseparable Gauls of course agree to help the Princess to save her mother and liberate her country. And here they are all on their way for a great adventure to China.
But Caesar and his powerful army, always thirsty for conquest, have also taken over the leadership of the Middle Empire…
