It is this night that the unmissable sporting event that is the Super Bowlgiving rise to the broadcast of all kinds of trailers for the next Hollywood blockbusters. Marvel Studios thus chose this framework to share a very first video of his only film of MCU planned for this year 2024, Deadpool 3. Well, that was its unofficial title until now, since its reveal in September 2022. From now on, you will have to call him Deadpool & Wolverinea title reflecting the importance that its two main characters will have while putting aside a little the two previous parts of the time before the redemption of the 20th Century Fox. The arrival of Wade Wilson within this shared cinematographic universe will not be without humor, as evidenced by this long teaser of more than two minutes mainly centered on its misadventures.
As previously announced, we will find many characters like Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), Colossus (Stefan Kapičić), Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) and Althea (Leslie Uggams), testifies this birthday party sequence, which will be somewhat spoiled and cut short by… agents of the VAT !
Yes, the Time Variance Authority of Loki will make his return, with a new agent baptized Paradox played by Matthew Macfadyen. The irreverent humor of Dead Pool will be back, as will his dialogues and looks at the camera breaking the 4th wall, not hesitating to undermine the well-polished image of Disney speaking of “pegging” (don’t look for kids!). The entity whose goal has changed somewhat since season 2 of the series Disney+ will therefore visibly appeal to this madman who takes himself to be Marvel Jesuseven if certain scenes suggest that this collaboration will not last since he will attack the Minutemen. You will also notice the immense stone logo of the 20th Century Fox half destroyed. The video also introduces Pyro (Aaron Stanford) as the enemy.
You will also note that the scene with the elevator clearly highlights the number 943which could refer to an alternate earth from the comics where Jocastamember of a team called the Gatherersmade up of former Avengers of different realities. Simple easter egg or future plot element, wait & see.
As for Wolverinehe remains quite discreet for the moment. We only see him seated from behind in a scene which could very well take place at Madripoorsince he wears a white suit recalling his identity as Patchand at the very end of the back and in shadow when it appears while Dead Pool is on the ground, claws out. Its interpreter Hugh Jackman did not fail to communicate in his own way the title of the film… or at least the one corresponding to the relationship between the two protagonists.
It also commented with humor the poster released, which is timely for Valentine’s Day:
“The best” is an exaggeration. The same goes for “friends.”
As previously announced, Deadpool & Wolverine will be released on July 26, 2024 in the United States and probably from the 24th around us. Until then, you can rewatch the two previous feature films or discover them by purchasing the Blu-ray box set bringing them together, sold for €16.95 on Amazon.
