CINEMA: Furiosa: A Mad Max saga revs its engines in a fiery first trailer

From 1979 to 1985, moviegoers of the time were able to discover the trilogy Mad Max by George Miller, with Mel Gibson in the title role. 30 years later, it is a fourth part entitled Mad Max: Fury Road which delighted the public and critics in 2015with Tom Hardy headlining, accompanied by Charlize Theron who playedImperator Furiosa, a particularly popular character. Nearly a decade later, it is a prequel centered on his youth which we will be entitled to next year, Furiosa: A Mad Max saga. A first trailer was released as part of the first day of the CCXP23 and promises an experience that fits well with the previous film.

Trailer VOSTFR

For this new feature film, it’s the elegant and innocent Anya Taylor-Joy who plays Furiosa, a rather curious choice at first glance, but which seems to work well according to these first extracts since we will follow its evolution. To accompany it on screen, it’s Chris Hemsworth who shares the poster playing the Warlord Dementuswithin a story taking place only 45 years after theCollapse, hence the presence of a few scenes with vegetation, enough to change the desolate lands of this dystopian universe. Obviously, there will once again be a chase in the middle of the desert aboard totally crazy vehicles.

Chris Hemsworth is quite unrecognizable and will bring back painful memories to those who did not appreciate the Thor depressed MCU. Plus, we see him wearing a red cape, which doesn’t help. All joking aside, his tête-à-tête with Immortan Joe is in any case something to excite. However, rare shots like the one where Furiosa is called “the angel of darkness” stings the eyes. We will also find out how she obtained her prosthesis. Otherwise, we learn that Alyla Browne and Tom Burke are also part of the cast, and that George Miller wrote the screenplay again with the help of Nico Lathouris.

In a world in decline, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Earth of the Countless Mothers and captured by a horde of bikers led by the fearsome warlord, Dementus. Crossing the Wasteland, they discover the Citadel ruled by Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants vie for dominance, Furiosa must overcome many challenges to find her way home.
