Even if the Marvel Cinematic Universe no longer has the wind in its sails, the feature films of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe are clearly nothing compared to masterpieces. Yet, Sony Pictures continues its projects with productions that are atypical to say the least, whose schedule was disrupted this summer due to the actors’ and screenwriters’ strike, which is now over. If Kraven the Hunter is no longer expected before August 30, 2024, another film in this universe will see the light of day for Valentine’s Day, titled Madame Web and starring Dakota Johnsonwhich the general public probably knows especially for the trilogy Fifty Shades. A first trailer has been posted online, which is nothing particularly exciting, although it has a few elements that still attract our curiosity. The umpteenth use of bury a friend of Billie Eilish for a trailer doesn’t help. It is accompanied by another video where the main actress and director SJ Clarkson present in more detail what this feature film will tell.

This origin story of Madame Web (Dakota Johnson) will tell us what happened before she ended up in a wheelchairas she discovers powers of prescience, all in the form of a psychological thriller. The antagonist in the costumeSpider Man seeking to kill three young women will be none other thanEzekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim)known to comic book readers where he has the powers of a Spider-Totemwho was with the mother of Cassandra Webb in the Amazon when she was studying spiders before she died. These women are not just anyone, because Julia Carpenter (Sydney Sweeney) and Mattie Franklin (Celeste O’Connor) are led to become Spider-Womanwheras’Anya Corazon (Isabela Merced) will play Spider-Girlwhich a priori does not want Ezekiel, it remains to be seen why. We also see a few snippets of action scenes where their costumes are visible in what appear to be glimpses of the future.
