CINEMA: Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom, the manhunt promises to be spectacular

After a trilogy of feature films that brought the license back to the forefront over the past decade, The Planet of the Apes will return to theaters in a few months with a sequel coming a little closer to the spirit of the 1968 film, subtitled The New Kingdom in French. We were able to discover a first trailer at the end of last year, which already introduced the main characters and the post-apocalyptic settings of this world where monkeys gifted with speech now reign supreme. A new, much more complete overview was given to us on the occasion of the Super Bowl last night, which still delights in terms of its special effects.

Trailer VOSTFR

The big bad Proximus Caesar (Kevin Durand) already shows us through his monologue that he should be interesting to follow, an antagonist eager for conquests and appearing tyrannical, especially towards human beings who have returned to the Stone Age. In opposition to his worldview, we find the young chimpanzee Noah (Owen Teague), protagonist searching for answers in the past and who finds it unfair that humanity is being hunted. It is also in this context thathe will cross paths with Mae (Freya Allan)who is apparently smarter than average according to the orangutan Raka (Peter Macon). And as if echoing the line “Apes together strong” from Caesar (Andy Serkis), we are entitled to a “No, together strong” bringing hope that the two species can coexist together.
