Cinema quiz: 9 films that make you hungry to recognize!

On the occasion of the release of the documentary “Poulet Frites”, we offer you a quiz on film titles that makes you want to sit down to eat. We give you the pitch, it’s up to you to find the title!

The documentary Poulet Frites by Jean Libon and Yves Hinant plunges us into the heart of a police investigation where the exhibit is… a fries! Normally it takes place in Belgium. Shot in black and white, this film is the second feature film “Strip-tease”, the name of the television show which ended in 2012.

Entitled Neither Judge, nor Submissive, the first film produced by the show’s team, released in 2019, was awarded the César for Best Documentary. We followed Judge Anne Gruwez, who we also see in Poulet frites.

Why give this title to a documentary? Because it is a police investigation (“chicken” in argo) and because the exhibit is a fry… Logic!

On the occasion of the theatrical release of this docu-polar, we offer you a quiz on the titles of films that make you hungry. Will you get 9/9?

The directors explain “Our writing is a comedy in its own way, thanks to sequences mixing black humor, the absurd, the bitterness of situations, sometimes a little vulgarity, poetry, despair, all rooted in our era. It’s about scandalizing or making people laugh by putting the finger where it hurts. It is also about showing contemporary tragicomic situations. We script reality, track our daily lives by unearthing characters and anecdotes from all social, cultural and professional categories combined”.

A formula that has already proven itself in the Belgian documentary program broadcast on RTBF and France 3, Strip-tease.

For more than twenty-five years, the program, without interviews or voice-overs, offered to “undress France and Belgium”. Become cult, Strip-Tease created controversy in 2012 with the episode Desperately looking for shepherdess in which we follow a single farmer whose grandparents use a marriage agency to put him in touch with a young Romanian.

The title of the show comes from one of the first reports in which we followed a young stripper who took part in an amateur striptease contest organized in Brussels by Bernard Schol. The poster for the event was stuck on the door of the editing room. While researching the show’s title, the producers found “Strip-Tease” a perfect fit for the concept and quickly came up with the subtitle “the magazine that strips you naked.”
