100% Fast & Furious evening on TF1 Séries Films! The channel is indeed broadcasting episodes 4 and 5 of the saga led by Vin Diesel and Paul Walker this evening and on this occasion, we invite you to test your knowledge of the successful franchise.
Who would have thought that a little clandestine car racing film released at the dawn of the 2000s would launch a saga that has lasted for 23 years? Probably not many people, except maybe Vin Diesel!
If he did not return for the second film released in 2003, his cameo in Tokyo Drift pleased fans so much that it allowed the development of a fourth opus with all the original actors. Since then, each release of an episode of Fast & Furious has been an event, widely promoted by the interpreter of Dominic Toretto on his networks.
Last February, Vin Diesel also gave news of the eleventh film which will conclude the saga with a bang. But while waiting to discover this final opus in 2025, return to Fast & Furious 5, broadcast this evening on TF1 Séries Films.

When he was offered to direct Fast and Furious 5, Justin Lin accepted but also wanted to give himself specific objectives to avoid the film being just a pale replica of its predecessors:
“I felt like there were a lot of directions left that the previous films hadn’t yet ventured into. I’m grateful the studio never asked me to recycle the same formula. Thanks to this, the franchise has been able to evolve and mature. This is the reason why I agreed to make this film. Family is the main theme. In the fourth part, we explored the notion of sacrifice within a family. In this fifth film, it is about family and freedom. As soon as I realized that, I wanted to be a part of it again.”
The Rock plays the “contragonists”
Dwayne Johnson has expressed interest in playing in Fast and Furious 5. The script was therefore reworked in order to thicken the character of Hobbs that the former wrestling star plays. Hobbs thus becomes a strong adversary against the heroes of the saga: an action man chasing others.
But Chris Morgan, the screenwriter, denies the idea that Johnson is playing the bad guy: “The correct term would be contragonist. He’s a guy doing his job, which is to capture the two outlaws Brian and Dom, and he’s willing to do anything to achieve his goals. So he’s a enormous threat for them (…)“.
