People waking up screaming or sweating from a nightmare. Children who are a little worried, who check under their bed that no ghost or strange monster is waiting for the light to be extinguished to get into action. Alarm clocks that come to interrupt a sweet sleep in the morning. The bed scenes in the movies are incalculable, especially if we add to these different situations, the many sex scenes in the movies.
And among all these scenes, some have remained more famous than others. We can for example think of Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, who finds himself trapped in a time loop. Indeed, each endlessly repeating day always begins the same way: Phil Connors is woken up every morning on the same date (February 2), at the same time (6 a.m.) with the same song (I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher).
On a more dramatic note, there is also this traumatic scene from The Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola. Producer Jack Woltz tells Tom Hagen, sent by the Corleone family, that their protege Johnny Fontane will not be chosen to star in his next film. The next morning, Jack wakes up horrified to find the bloody head of his brand new racehorse Khartoum at the foot of his bed.
One last example to end on a lighter note. Philippe Noiret who in Alexandre le Blessed by Yves Robert, installs a whole device around his bed, having access to everything he needs, so as not to have to move and enjoy his new life of idleness.
