On the occasion of the cinema release of Revoir Paris with Virginie Efira, we invite you to try to recognize these film scenes all taking place in districts of the French capital.
This Wednesday, the film Revoir Paris by director Alice Winocour was released on our screens, starring Virginie Efira, Benoit Magimel, and Grégoire Colin. The story of Mia, a young woman who, after having miraculously managed to escape an attack in a Parisian brasserie, will have to show resilience, to try to rebuild herself psychologically, following this terrible ordeal.
If the film is presented as a fiction, we can of course not help thinking of the multiple attacks that mourned the capital in November 2015. The director was also strongly inspired by the testimony of her brother who was present at the Bataclan concert that evening, and also frequented forums and associations of victims for his story.
Because the feature film does not focus on the attacks themselves (unlike Cédric Jimenez’s next film, Novembre), but of course the consequences endured by the survivors, and the attempts to rebuild a community that seeks to understand and overcome these challenges together. This is the director’s fourth film after Augustine, Maryland and the recent Proxima in which Eva Green played an astronaut who had to leave her eight-year-old daughter to go on a space mission.
We also owe him the writing of many screenplays, in particular that of Mustang co-written with the director Deniz Gamze Ergüven, a film which had received the César for Best Original Screenplay and which had been selected for the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Film category. .
