20 years ago today, Quentin Tarantino’s fourth film, “Kill Bill”, was released on French screens. The opportunity to look back on his filmography through this quiz in nine images and nine questions.
While we impatiently await the release of Quentin Tarantino’s new feature film, The Movie Critic (information, casting, rumors… everything you need to know about the film), which could well, if we are to believe the words of the director, being his last, today we celebrate twenty years since the release of one of the peaks of his filmography, Kill Bill, released in France on November 26, 2003.
This anniversary made us want to add a second volume to the quiz that we devoted to this major filmmaker last year. Thurman-Tarantino reunion
In 1994, in Pulp Fiction, Uma Thurman played the role of Mia Wallace, the girlfriend of Ving Rhames who was addicted to cocaine and suffered an overdose. Nine years later, she reunited with Quentin Tarantino for Kill Bill.
Tarantino and anime
For the animated sequence of the film, Tarantino called on the Japanese studio Production IG, already behind the anime classics Ghost in the Shell and Jin-Roh, the Wolf Brigade.
Thurman pregnant, filming delayed
In the spring of 2001, when all the sets were set up and the team was ready, the news broke: Uma Thurman was expecting a child. Tarantino cannot conceive the film without his favorite performer and postpones filming. Despite the insistence of Miramax studios, which are already putting forward the name of Patricia Arquette to replace the actress, the director does not give in.
He thus intends to repeat the tour de force accomplished by Josef von Sternberg in 1930 for Morocco. The Austrian filmmaker, learning that his main actress and muse Marlene Dietrich had become pregnant, suspended the shooting of his film until the actress could act again.
