Cinema quiz: in which film do we see these firefighters?

On the occasion of the broadcast of Backdraft this evening on ARTE, we offer you a quiz dedicated to the noble profession of firefighter. Can you recognize these eight movie scenes?

Imagine Entertainment

In 1991 the film Backdraft was released. The story of two brothers, Stephen and Brian McCaffrey, who as children lost their father Dennis, captain of the Chicago Fire Department firefighters, who died a hero during an intervention.

We find them twenty years later, with two very different trajectories when Stephen decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by dedicating his life to firefighting, while his brother lives off odd jobs after dropped out of the academy. But back in Chicago, the latter finally decides to resume training under the skeptical eye of his brother…

In parallel with this family history, we also follow the investigation of Inspector Donald Rimgale who looks into a series of “backdrafts”, fires that extinguish themselves in the breath of their own explosion, and which everything suggests that they are of criminal origin.

In the production, we find the filmmaker Ron Howard (the Richie of the 70s TV series Happy Days) who was not at his first attempt, he who had already directed several feature films including Splash with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah in the role of the mermaid, Cocoon and its pool of youth, or even Willow. His following films will also bring him some great successes with, for example, Apollo 13 or Da Vinci Code.

On the casting side, the director knew how to surround himself with Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, Scott Glenn, Robert de Niro and Donald Sutherland, Jennifer Jason Leigh or Rebecca De Mornay.

We have therefore decided to dedicate a quiz to this noble profession of firefighter, asking you to try to recognize these eight movie scenes!
