The oldest among you may still remember the credits of Midnight Cinema, a flagship program broadcast on Sunday evenings on what was still FR3 at the time, and which offered viewers the great classics of cinema every week. On a soft music by Francis Lai, we could see couples of black and white actors follow one another in fades on the screen, all entwined, on the point of kissing.

It must be said that legendary kisses in the cinema, there have been many. On the classic side, a first iconic image comes to mind, that of the poster for Gone with the Wind by Victor Fleming, on which Clark Gable leans lovingly over Vivien Leigh. In France, it was a film by Marcel Carné, Quai des Brumes, which offered us one of the first significant kisses in cinema between Jean Gabin and Michèle Morgan, a scene that has also remained famous for the dialogue preceding the tender kiss: ” You have beautiful eyes you know” / “Kiss me”.

On the cartoon side, the many love stories and other fantastic tales from the Disney studios, of course, offered us kisses in almost each of their films, such as in The Little Mermaid or Aladdin. But if we had to remember just one, it would probably be the tomato sauce flavored kiss between La Belle et le Tramp.
