Cinema Quiz: James Bond or OSS 117? Do not be mistaken !

On my left, the classiest of English spies, on my right the craziest of French spies. Can you guess which franchise the twelve images in this quiz come from?

The secret agent James Bond, number 007, saw the light of day in 1953 from the pen of the writer Ian Fleming (himself a former British spy) in Casino Royale, first novel in a long series to come. If the creator of this now legendary character only wrote nine of his hero’s adventures in total, many other novelists succeeded him after his death in 1964, including John Gardner, Charlie Higson and William Boyd.

With such popular success, the film adaptation seemed inevitable, and it was in 1962 that the public could discover the first face of the famous spy on the big screen in the form of actor Sean Connery in James Bond 007 vs. Dr. No . First, because success is also there, and after donning the tuxedo of the famous agent six times, he gives way to George Lazenby then Roger Moore (play with the two most iconic performers in this quiz) .

Subsequently, three other actors will follow one another: Timothy Dalton for two films, Killing is not Playing and License to Kill, Pierce Brosnan for four new films, and finally the latest Daniel Craig, while waiting to know which actor or actress will take over in the coming years.

The “almost” secret agent Huber Bonisseur de La Bath, number OSS 117, was born from the imagination of the French writer Jean Bruce with a first novel entitled You’re talking about an ingénue (here 0SS 117) published in 1949. Again many other books followed (more than a hundred), but we would have to wait around sixty years to see the actor Jean Dujardin play this zany spy in OSS 117 Cairo Nest of Spies.

To this day, he remains the sole interpreter of this secret agent like no other, with two other feature films, OSS 117 Rio no longer responds and OSS 117 Red alert in black Africa. If the first two parts are both signed Michel Hazanavicius, the latest was directed by Nicolas Bedos.

These two heroes who are completely opposite will find themselves in our quiz of the day. You will indeed have to try to guess which franchise these twelve images come from. Watch out for traps!
