2 sequels and 1 remake

Robocop was the subject of two sequels: the first, Robocop 2 by Irvin Kershner (1990), with Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O’Herlihy and Robert Doqui, and the second, Robocop 3 by Fred Dekker (1993) , still with Nancy Allen and Robert Doqui, but in which Robert John Burke succeeded Peter Weller. Furthermore, a remake soberly titled RoboCop directed by the Brazilian José Padilha and carried by the Swede Joel Kinnaman saw the light of day in 2014.

Influence

One of the film’s screenwriters, Edward Neumeier, had the idea for Robocop after participating in the filming of Blade Runner (1982), the characters Harrison Ford chases being also machine-men.

Machine music

Terminator music (the arrival of the Terminator in our world) is present in Robocop. This is a nod from director Paul Verhoeven to James Cameron’s film. Common point between the two characters: they are machines with a human face.
