CINEMA: Super Mario Bros., the release of the animated film postponed for several months

Since 2017, we know that nintendo and Enlightenment Entertainmentto whom we owe for example Minions and All on stagework together on an animated movie Super Mario Bros.. Since then, the project has evolved since a release date was given last September, in addition to the list of the main English-speaking dubbers, with in particular Chris Pratt for the role of mario. Except that we now learn bad news, namely a postponement of several months of this feature film, which will therefore not be released on December 21, 2022 in the United States.

Shigeru Miyamoto, who is overseeing the project, sent a message to fans on social media, announcing that this film Super Mario Bros. will finally see the light of day April 7, 2023 in North America and no earlier than April 28 in Japan. Over here, the launch will also be for that monthas confirmed by the European account, without further details.

After consulting Chris-san (Chris Meledandri, editor’s note), my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. movie, we have decided to move the worldwide release to spring 2023, April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America.
