Citadel has just ended on Prime Video this Friday, with an episode 6 rich in revelations. But by the way… Will there be a season 2?

After 5 weeks of broadcast, season 1 of Citadel ended this Friday. Prime Video has indeed put the 6th episode online, which answers a certain number of questions… and raises others. After having succeeded in saving Carter then their daughter from the clutches of Manticore, Mason and Nadia return to their old HQ. Kane then decides to use the serum to reactivate his memory and remember who he is. And it’s not a pretty sight.
We learn that it was not Nadia who betrayed Citadel but Kane himself, in exchange for information to find the woman he loves (before changing his mind when he learned he had a daughter). We discover that Dahlia (Lesley Manville) is actually his mother and that he lost his father, also an agent, in a fatal explosion.
The latter reveals to him that his death was linked to an error by Citadel and that the agency did everything to hide the accident. Dahlia then asks him for the list of agents and operations in order to make Citadel pay, in court. But what Kane doesn’t know is that she wants to use this information to make the agency disappear, for the benefit of Manticore.
Episode 6 therefore ends with these revelations. We understand that Mason does not want to reveal to Nadia that he is at the origin of the fall of Citadel, even if the latter seems to suspect it. Fortunately, we are not done with our two secret agents since Prime Video renewed its spy series for a season 2, well before the launch of the first.
It is recalled that the platform has spent a substantial sum on this series and plans to launch an international franchise with spin-offs in different countries. Despite more than mixed reviews from the press, subscribers responded, making Citadel the most viewed series on Prime today.
The filming of this season 2 has not yet started and we do not yet know which countries will visit Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in these new episodes. It could arrive in 2024 – at the same time as the Italian series – or even in 2025…
