The first models were received at the dealership on September 25, and the first customers were delivered immediately, the next day, after a final update to be made on site. According to AAA Data data from October 1, 3,626 registrations were made in less than a week for the Citroën ë-C3. This figure must be taken with caution, Numerama explains why.

Not all registrations are deliveries

As Citroën continued to deliver until late in the evening of Monday September 30, there is perhaps a discrepancy in the figures communicated to count registrations for the month. This does not prevent us from giving an order of magnitude of the effort made by the Citroën teams, because it remains a significant amount of work accomplished in a few days.

The brand still used a little stratagem to include certain cars in the registrations of the month, while the end customer still hasn’t seen the color of it. The brand has achieved some early registrations, something that the Stellantis group does very regularly to get ahead of its main competitor, Renault, which is still on the edge.

Some customers have placed their trust in Citroën by signing, before actually receiving their car, the documents necessary for its registration. They should receive the vehicle in the coming days. From the moment the car has been manufactured and a chassis number has been assigned to a customer, these procedures are made easier.

Thus, among the 3,626 registrations announced this 1ᵉʳ October, you should know that some cars could be delivered, but not counted and others counted, but not delivered to date.

A grand entry into second place on the podium

A symbol of the effort made at the factory, at headquarters, in logistics and even in dealerships, the Citroën ë-C3 makes a resounding entry onto the podium in the ranking of electric car registrations for the month of September . A few hundred models were registered earlier in the year for dealership test and trial vehicles, but no customers were affected in these 493 registrations recorded at the end of August.

The model certainly has the fastest progression, ranking in 2nd place on the podium in September. The question that now arises is: will the model stay there for the next few months?

There are still many social leasing customers, more than 2,000, who were not contacted about their vehicle before September 30. Citroën reassures them by officially communicating this October 1: “ Citroën will commercially guarantee the same conditions as those for electric leasing so that none of them are harmed. »

There will still be a lot to do afterwards with orders for Citroën ë-C3 Max from customers who have not benefited from the government measure. Citroën must not soften.
