Citroën ë-C3 electric: its autonomy exceeds that of the Dacia Spring by 100 km

The announced autonomy of the Citroën ë-C3 is yo-yoing. First promised a WLTP range of 320 km, awaiting final approval, Citroën then revised its estimate downward in its advertising campaign. The ë-C3, like the large battery version of the Peugeot e-3008, has had 20 km of announced autonomy removed.

We now know the definitive WLTP approval of the Citroën ë-C3 and it’s a good surprise. Thus, it announces a range of up to 326 km, for its entry-level You version at €19,300 bonus deducted, according to the WLTP protocol. Of course, in real conditions, you must always take a margin compared to the approval values. However, for urban and peri-urban use, it is entirely possible to approach or even exceed the WLTP autonomy.

Citroën encroaches on Dacia’s lands

By way of comparison, the restyled Dacia Spring, the main rival of the ë-C3, announces 225 km of WLTP autonomy. The Dacia, certainly still a little cheaper despite the loss of its bonus, starting at €18,900, therefore seems significantly less well equipped than the Citroën ë-C3. It is also smaller and much less powerful.

On the Citroën ë-C3 configurator, its high-end Max finish, sold for €23,800 bonus deducted, is displayed with a WLTP autonomy of 321 km. Its 17″ rims compared to 16″ at the entry level and its numerous additional equipment, making it heavier, necessarily have an impact on its autonomy, but which remains very moderate.

Remember that the Citroën ë-C3 will later receive a version with a smaller battery, for a range of around 200 km, which could bring its price excluding bonuses below €20,000. Furthermore, the new thermal C3 is also available at very attractive prices, since it starts at €15,220 plus penalty, i.e. a price comparable to that of a Dacia Sandero with equivalent versions.
