The manufacturer Citroën unveiled its electric C3 on Tuesday, with one objective: to democratize use thanks to a more reasonable price, which could fall thanks to the ecological bonus. Let’s see what’s inside the vehicle, which will be available in just a few months.

The announcement is official! Citroën has just presented the all-new ë-C3. The first electric model of a car considered a best-seller for the brand (5.6 million copies sold), the vehicle promises a range of up to 320 km, and will be offered at a very acceptable price, from of 23,300 euros. The ecological bonus could help you bring its cost below the fateful bar of 20,000 euros. The electric C3 will be available from your dealer in the second quarter of 2024.

Two electric C3 models offered

Faced with its competitors Renault, Open or Volkswagen, who all want to offer an electric vehicle around 25,000 euros at the end of 2024 or 2025, Citroën has just released its new C3 in preview, with the ambition of “ reshuffle the cards on the market for versatile city cars produced in Europe », in just a few months. Two models will be offered, all in five colors: ice white, Monte Carlo blue, elixir red, Mercury gray and Perla Nera black:

  • A basic “You” version,
  • A high-end “Max” versionwith the option of a white roof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, automatic air conditioning, a reversing camera and electric rear windows.

The fourth generation of C3 was designed and produced in Europe. It will be equipped with an 83 kW/113 hp electric motor to help with daily travel, and a 44 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery which could help you achieve an honest range of 320 km. The engine will allow you to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds, with a maximum speed of 135 km/h.

100 kW fast charging should take owners just 26 minutes to go from 20 to 80 percent capacity, and promised compatibility with more than 540,000 charging stations across Europe. With standard alternating current, this same recharge will take approximately 4 hours 10 minutes at a power of 7 kW, and 2 hours 50 minutes if 11 kW are available.

Citroën worked on infotainment

This ë-C3 takes up the C-Zen Lounge cabin concept, for a modern interior which offers the driver and front passenger a clearer view of the horizon. A new head-up display, Citroën Head Up Display, will help reflect vehicle information on a brighter black section, positioned between the bottom of the windshield and the top of the dashboard. A first for Citroën, which is experiencing some upheaval with its previous C3s.

Regarding infotainment and connectivity, the electric C3 will offer two levels to the driver:

  • THE My Citroën Play level with smartphone station, which will be standard on the “You” models, with the possibility of attaching your smartphone, and an optimized application environment.
  • And the My Citroën Drive level, equipped with a 10.2-inch screen which will be standard on the “Max” version, as we explained above. But also, add to this a wireless Wi-Fi function, which will allow smartphone mirroring, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

To facilitate circulation, monitor its battery level in real time and the state of charge, Citroën has specifically designed an application, called e-ROUTES, which will be included in the Connect Plus connected services subscription. The MyCitroën application will allow you to manage your charging schedules and preheat or precool the vehicle, in addition to checking the battery level.

An affordable price… and an even cheaper model in 2025?

The ë-C3 will be sold from 23,300 euros. At this price, the French manufacturer makes an honest offer to the public, compared to a Fiat 500 which costs more than 30,000 euros or a Renault Twingo E-Tech which easily exceeds 25,000 euros.

With the ecological bonus, which can reach up to 5,000 euros, the electric C3 could see its price fall below 20,000 euros. A strong argument, which could quickly make it a reference model in its segment, initially in France.
