Citroën wants to return to 1 million sales by 2025

PARIS (Reuters) – Citroën is counting on its new electric ë-C3 to help it regain global sales of one million units by 2025, the managing director of the Stellantis brand told Reuters on Tuesday.

“Our very simple ambition, by 2025, we hope to be (at) the level of one million cars,” said Thierry Koskas.

Engaged in a strategic repositioning since its separation ten years earlier from the high-end DS, the chevron brand saw its global sales drop by 14% last year to 685,732 units.

The goal of one million is broken down into 700,000 sales in Europe, where the brand wants to regain a market share of 5% compared to just under 4% currently, and 300,000 sales outside Europe, notably in India and Brazil. and in Turkey.

“In September, we stopped the decline in our market share for the first time in 15 months, so there is a new commercial dynamic that is being established,” added Thierry Koskas.

Citroën has undergone several stylistic changes in recent years, from the bold design of the C4 Cactus to the transformation of its famous Picasso family minivans into SUVs, including the colorful curves of the current C3. These, in the new Citroën style, now give way to more assertive lines and more sculpted surfaces.
