City advance – A10 traffic jam: Hallein is now examining driving bans

It won’t solve the cause – but perhaps a driving ban can at least relieve pressure on one street in Hallein that is particularly affected by traffic jams.

In order to escape the traffic jam around the construction site on the Tauernautobahn (A10), many holidaymakers use the wildest alternative routes – the “Krone” reported. Particularly affected: the single-lane road on the Adneter Riedl between Adnet and Hallein. Neighbors are already collecting signatures for a driving ban. Hallein’s mayor Alexander Stangassinger is already examining whether a ban is possible. The Sonnenscheinweg in Gamp is also already being examined. Driving on weekends and public holidays should be prohibited. According to the mayor, the prerequisite is a traffic count and a justification for the demand for a driving ban. The demand for strict controls remains, but Stangassinger doesn’t give the people of Hallein too high hopes. He says: “Unfortunately this will not solve the cause of the problem.” He calls for stricter controls on the highway.
