City Hill Climb – Three Minute Spectacle: “A Perfect Race”

Hard. Harder. City Hill Climb! After the premiere last year, the second edition of the bike sprint up to Hohensalzburg Fortress turned out to be a spokes spectacle!

The participants had to cope with inclines of up to 32 percent on the 900 meter long course, on which 120 meters in altitude had to be covered. Last year’s winners again proved to be in a class of their own. Daniel Federspiel won the men’s race and in 3:05 minutes was three seconds faster than in 2021. “It was a perfect race, I really liked it,” said the two-time Eliminator World Champion from Tyrol. Carina Schrempf triumphed in the women’s category. “This time I was able to complete the whole route, I’m proud of that.” The mountain runners, in which Rudi Urban succeeded, celebrated their premiere. Organizer Gerhard Schönbacher: “The race went down really well!”
