That’s what the documentary is about

There are more than 360,000 civil defense bunkers in Switzerland – and therefore enough shelters for the entire population of the country in an emergency. Due to the war in the Ukraine, the bunker builders are currently booming. This system of shelters, which is unique in the world, was created during the Cold War: in view of the threatening saber-rattling between the USA and the Soviet Union, Switzerland opted for the “Let’s make the hedgehog” strategy. Was this bunker mentality the expression of a particularly strong need for security? What can you still feel about it today? And how future-proof is this concept in a globalized world? A bunker builder, a historian and a security politician provide the answer.
