Once a year, The Painter wakes up to sketch a cursed number on her monolith: all people of this age then instantly evaporate in a cloud of smoke. Every year this number decreases. Tomorrow will be the 33rd. To break this deadly cycle once and for all, Gustave and his Expedition Members decide to embark on an insane quest. By retracing the journey of dozens of failed Expeditions in the past, you will have to defeat powerful enemies to save the future of your world. In this dreamlike universe, the story sees fantasy and art converge towards a breathtakingly original destination, perfectly set to music by an enchanting original soundtrack.
Created under Unreal Engine 5, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, or Expedition 33, is a dynamic and innovative turn-based RPG that offers immersive combat, where attack and defense choices are made in real time. Players will have to master different offensive skills and magical abilities, but also dodge, parry and counter enemy attacks in real time, while targeting enemies’ weak points using a free aiming system that will perhaps allow them to turn the most desperate situations in their favor. It will be possible to personalize the statistics, skill tree and equipment of each character, but also teach them different character traits which grant them passive skills. The strategic possibilities offered are limitless.
