Invited on the set of TPMP People, two former Claudettes confided in the subject of Claude François. And their revelations are chilling.
He was one of the most appreciated artists of the French. Claude François still continues, 44 years after his death, to make entire generations dance. But behind this energy to spare, hides a darker side. Indeed, former Claudettes have agreed to confide in the star of French song during their time on the show TPMP People. And their revelations are chilling. Indeed, Ketty revealed the nickname given to her by Claude François: Kettly the “bangala” long-legged: “It shocked me, but for him it was a game. As people did not know what ‘bangala’ meant, for Podium, to announce me, he had nicknamed me like that.”
And when he happened to dance less well, Kelly was even more singled out: “It was: ‘If I hired a black girl, it’s not so that she would be stiffer than a white one’. It’s the electric shock there!”. Words that would have been pronounced by Claude François, who would not have stopped there: “I was always late! There was a big rehearsal and I arrived an hour late. Claude is so upset, he said to me: ‘You could go back to your coconut tree’. He didn’t know what to say to sting me!” But according to the former Claudette, the singer was not “racist”. For her part, Carole remembered that the artist could be “very difficult”.
Matthieu Delormeau: “He was a bad guy”
Matthieu Delormeau, the presenter of TPMP People also revealed numerous notes written by Claude François and which show how the artist would have been fussy or even “obsessive” on certain points. To his secretary he wrote: “I hate you Francoise. […] Between you and the softness of JL Obis, I’m not in shit.” To his driver: “Thank you when you take my car not to adjust the right mirror, not to adjust the central mirror and not to move the seat. If you have shorter legs than me, that’s your problem!”. Writings that deeply shocked Matthieu Delormeau : “There is no thank you, there is no please, sorry, can we say that years later, he had talent but he was a dirty guy!”.
