Clem on TF1: will there be a season 13?

The new season 12 of “Clem”, marked by the return of Jérôme, ends this evening on TF1. Despite sharply declining audiences, will the series carried by Lucie Lucas, Agustin Galiana, and Thomas Chomel be entitled to a season 13 next year?

After only three weeks of broadcasting, TF1 viewers will discover this evening the last two episodes of season 12 of Clem which will see things get complicated for Valentin (Thomas Chomel), victim of Iris’ revenge (Héléna Noguerra), and for the Clem-Mathieu couple, who may well not survive the ordeal they are going through. Unless…

And if fans can’t wait to find out what end of the season the writers have in store for Lucie Lucas, Agustin Galiana, and their play partners, they’re also eager to find out if their favorite series will be back next year for new episodes.

Unfortunately for them, Clem’s fate is not yet fixed. Contacted by us, the channel replied that it had no information to communicate for the moment about the rest of the series. And the order, or not, of a season 13.

Everything leads to believe that, as so often, TF1 is waiting for the audience report for the six episodes of season 12 to make a firm and final decision. A logical observation, but not reassuring when you know that Clem’s audiences are down sharply this year.

A season 12 low in housewives

After a disappointing season 10 in 2020 with only 2.81 million viewers on average in standby audience over its six episodes, for a market share of 13.2% on individuals aged four and over, and 21, 5% on the target of Women Purchasing Managers Under 50 (FRDA-50), the series worn by Lucie Lucas picked up the colors last year.

Indeed, season 11 had managed to gather an average of 3.45 million followers in the spring of 2021, and to offer a nice 24.8% audience share to TF1 on the privileged target of FRDA-50, formerly called ” housewives under the age of 50. But the upturn was only short-lived.

On Monday March 28, season 12 of Clem started in front of only 2.41 million fans (12.7% of the public and 21.1% of the FRDA-50). And last week, the TF1 series ended behind L’île aux 30 coffins on France 2 and Married at first sight on M6, bringing together 2.40 million viewers, for an audience share of only 18.4% on the women responsible for purchases under 50 years old.

A low score on this indicator for a channel like TF1, which recently put an end to several long series like Alice Nevers or Profiling because they had fallen below the 20% mark.

However, the channel congratulated itself on social networks on the “success” of the first episodes of season 12 in consolidated audience on D+7, since the 1st episode of March 28 gained 765,000 viewers in one week, while the second, “The surprise guest”, managed to climb to 27% of audience share on the commercial target.

This powerful replay, and still solid scores on the young audience, will they allow Clem to return for a season 13? Or will the series end after twelve years of existence?

We can in any case hope that in the event of cancellation TF1 offers a real end to the series, in the form of a final telefilm as is the case for Research Section. Because the last episode of season 12, which will be broadcast tonight, is in no way a satisfactory conclusion to a series that has been going on for so many years.
