PARIS (Reuters) – Transport Minister Clément Beaune said he wanted a “gesture” from motorway companies on toll prices, as many French people will use their vehicles to go on vacation this summer, in a context high inflation that caused fuel prices to rise.
“The government has concentrated its efforts on fuel, with the rebate of 18 cents which extends until the fall,” he recalled in an interview with Le Parisien.
“We are going, with Bercy, to bring together all the players around the table, to think about actions. It would be useful for the motorway companies to make a gesture”, he continued. ‘As Total Energies and others have been able to do, in service stations.’
