Clément Brisse case: the bullying of which the high school student was the victim before being found dead


Found dead in a pond near his high school in 2017, Clément Brisse had his throat slit 13 cm before dying, according to the results of the autopsy of the teenager’s body, revealed by La Voix du Nord on November 19, 2021 .

The Clément Brisse case came to an end on November 19, 2021. On that day, the Assize Court for Minors in the Somme sentenced a teenager, aged 17 at the time of the events, to 15 years’ imprisonment. As a reminder, the lifeless body of young Clément Brisse, only 16 years old, was found in a pond near his high school in 2017. During the trial, several former classmates of the victim testified to the bullying he was the victim of. target. In particular, he had shaved haircookies filled with toothpaste, humiliating nicknames, or even his clothes thrown in the trash.

I feel lost in this world (…) it no longer makes me want to continue my life“, had also written Clément Brisse on Facebook a few days before his death. For its part, the local daily The voice of the North revealed the results of the autopsy performed on the victim’s body. According to the medical examiner’s findings, Clément Brisse had the slit throat about 13 cm before dying. However, he could not totally rule out the thesis of suicide. The teenager was a second intern at Peltier High School. During their investigation, the authorities found traces of blood on the sneakers of a former comrade of Clément Brisse, responding to the name of Jérémy D.

Clément Brisse case: another former classmate tried for false testimony

During the trial, the Advocate General had requested 20 years’ imprisonment against the accused, while asking the jurors not to accept the excuse of minority, in the face of “countless lies” by Jeremy D. “Yes I had knives, yes I was a thief, but I’m not a murderer“, had affirmed the teenager, while his lawyer, Me Houria Zanovello, estimated that “the doubt“was to benefit his client.”This will never bring Clement back and the pain for the family is still there. It can’t be someone else, there’s no possible doubt, it’s him and only him who killed Clement. The only thing we’ll never know is why“, had pleaded, for his part, the lawyer for the family of the victim, Me Guillaume Demarcq. Tried for false testimony, another former comrade of Clément Brisse was sentenced to two years in prison suspended. He ended up confess to the police that Jérémy D. had taken him to see the victim’s body several hours before it was discovered.
