The little holes in t-shirts and dresses are annoying – especially since they always appear in our favorite pieces. You can easily fix them with this trick.

Most of the time, it’s the favorite part: Small holes often appear in T-shirts or jersey dresses – especially on the stomach. That’s annoying, but by no means a reason to throw it away. Because you can close the holes without much effort in such a way that they are virtually invisible. And without a needle and thread.

Patch holes without sewing

If you are attached to the affected piece of clothing, you can easily repair it without the hole being visible afterwards. Instead of a needle and thread, all you need is an iron-on fleece and an iron. Here we show you step by step how to get rid of the holes.

What you need to patch the small holes:

  • The garment with the hole
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Iron-on fleece that is as thin as possible (available in sewing or craft stores)
  • A piece of cotton fabric

How to repair the clothes:

  • Cut a piece of iron-on fleece so that the hole can be well covered with it.
  • Turn on your iron and set it to “wool mode.”
  • Turn the t-shirt inside out and pull it onto the ironing board.
  • Iron the t-shirt flat where the hole is and let it cool.
  • Pinch the fabric around the hole to make it as small as possible.
  • Now place your fleece patch on the hole.
  • Place your piece of cotton fabric on the spot with the fleece and make sure that nothing slips.
  • Iron the batting open for about 30 seconds.
  • Let cool down

bets? The hole is sealed and can hardly be seen!

In the article Why are there always holes in my t-shirts? we have collected tips that you can use to prevent these mini-holes from appearing in the first place. For example, by doing without a belt or by putting sensitive items in a laundry bag when washing in the machine. But sometimes it’s just the poor quality of the yarn, and then pitting can hardly be prevented. This is where the iron-on fleece is used, which can save your garment.
