The German was hiking along the southern shore of Lake Hinterstein with his partner on Thursday afternoon when he discovered what was supposed to be the ideal selfie spot in a large stone. So the 55-year-old climbed up the rock and took pictures. Seriously injured when he fell. But the accident happened on the descent: when he wanted to climb from the large stone to a smaller one to regain solid ground, he slipped and fell. The hiker hit the ground and sustained serious injuries. The rescue helicopter flew him to the district hospital in Kufstein.
