The only Swiss Petra Klingler missed the final at her last World Cup in bouldering as 13th.

The 2016 bouldering world champion could no longer attempt an exploit at the last World Cup of her career. Petra Klingler missed the bouldering final of the top 6 climbers at the home title fights in Bern.

The 31-year-old Swiss made a strong start to the World Cup semi-finals in front of more than 5,000 spectators who supported her enthusiastically and mastered the first problem in the first attempt. She then only managed to get the top mark with the 4th of a total of 4 problems. This was not enough against the strong competition and Klingler failed in 13th place.

Final live on Saturday night

The Swiss has a long injury time behind her and therefore cautiously announced the semifinals as her goal. She achieved this goal at her last World Championships – Klingler will end her career next year after the Olympic Games in Paris – but she was not able to improve on her 7th place in the qualification.

The Slovenian Janja Garnbret showed the best performance in the semi-finals, reaching all the tops in the first attempt and thus impressively underpinning her gold ambitions. The final with the top 6 will be broadcast live on SRF in the evening from 6:25 p.m., the entire live program with all semi-finals and finals of the Climbing World Cup can be found here here.
