Clock Tower, Tomba, Gex… Limited Run Games announces a host of retro ports

The biggest announcement of this “old-fashioned” Direct is undoubtedly the return of clocktower, classic Super Famicom 16-bit horror game leaving for the very first time its Japanese exclusivity to arrive on our current consoles and PC. The title of the late Human Entertainment finds a new life (ah!) thanks to the Carbon Engine of Limited Run Games, with the WayForward studio in charge of the technical grub. The formula will repeat the one already implemented for River City Girls Zero, with the addition of new animated cutscenes, state saves, a gallery ofartworks and translations into several languages. The heart of the game will remain the same as in 1995 – an agonizing point’n’click where the player will have to help young Jennifer Simpson escape from the sharp blades of the skillfully named Scissorman. The release of Clock Tower is expected for the beginning of 2024 on the demat’ PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC stores. A physical edition will arrive later, without further details.

Fallen, Fallen, Fallen

Very proud of its internal solution, LRG also has another project for its Carbon Engine: Fallen! (aka Tombi! chez nous), the famous platformer from legend Tokuro Fujiwara (Ghost’n’Goblins, Bionic Commando), comes straight from the PlayStation… And that’s about it. No release date horizon has been communicated – we know, however, that this return will concern the PS4, PS5, Switch and PC consoles, without detour through the Xbox ecosystem. Ah, one detail though: the soundtrack, to say the least one of a kindwill be reinterpreted by its original composer Fujita Harumi.

Come on, two more ports for form – in the form of compilations. First of all Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collectiona small diptych of NES, SNES and Game Boy titles Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues from Ocean Software scheduled for we don’t know when on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC consoles. Always in the genre comebacks that no one really asked for, Gex Trilogy (Gex, Gex 3D: Return of the Gecko and Gex against Dr. Rez) will also arrive on these same platforms, without further info as to the versions concerned or release date.
